Trick Or Treat... But DON'T Smell Sunny's Feet!!!! [open]

It's Dark now, and Magnus has been preparing. He doesn't want Sunny to get bored or to feel the pervasive lack of the month, and so he's been squirreling away the necessary items for fun. It's not a surprise activity — Sunny has been on board since the very beginning, helping pick out exactly what they need to make it truly exceptional — but it does have a very intensive prep.

Finally, about a week into the month, they reach a point of cabin fever where the time seems right. It's not so intense that they're truly cranky, but they're definitely both in need of some diversion. Apu's cold is waning, and Far's isn't very advanced, and so Sunny allows that she can take a break from playing nurse (a word which here means verrrry carefully but verrrry insistently bringing them both cup after cup of water) to play Halloween instead.

And so, equipped with a closet full of costumes and an enormous basket, they start their rotation of Every Single Door In The Mansion (And All Other Non-Mansion Buildings Where People Live). Magnus knocks loudly, Sunny at his side, poised to say the magic words.

Halloween! In... May. When tagging in, please just get your character to the point of opening the door: we're going to describe Magnunny's costumes in our first tags!

Sunny waves her real hands around in a move some might refer to as 'jazz hands'. "I just tricking! I still have hands!"

"That's because Sunny is trickmaster. She's master of the tricks."

"Number one tricker."

Magnus doesn't particularly care if most people like him or not -- just the ones he's really close to -- but he does care very much that people like Sunny. A look of approval crosses his face.

"Okay you get a egg now."

"I suppose I do like eggs," says Susan. "Thank you."

"It's not, like, chicken eggs."

[biteybaby]

"Is chocolate egg," Sunny says, retrieving one for Susan and handing it up to her. "There's a present inside it. Don't eat that part only eat the chocolate."

"You should eat it now," Magnus says, a little loudly. "We're making a list of all the different toys."

"Yeah! I want to see what you gotted."

"Oh, very well," says Susan. She unwraps the egg, bites carefully into the top, and tips the queerest little insect-shaped crayon onto her hand. She kneels down to show it to Sunny.

"Whoaaaa..." It's weird. "What it name?"

"It's some sort of bee, I bee-lieve. And it's green, like a great number of orchid bees. I shall call it Euglossa crayona."

Is this why Galahad likes Susan? Magnus snorts.

"Big name," says Sunny Baudelaire.

"All orchid bees ought to have Euglossa as part of their name," Susan tells her, lips twitching.

"Oh. The science name thing?"

[biteybaby]

"What if a orchid bee wanna be named something different? What if orchid bee wanna be name Randy? Or Alfred? Or Perdita? Or Ferdinand? Or Lacey? Or Ricardo? Or Ebony? Or Raven? Or Colleen? Or Emma? Or Mandy? Or Diana? Or Mamoru? Or Millicent? Or Raul Esparza?"

"Yes, it's a scientific name. Binomial nomenclature." Susan regards Sunny closely. "So I expect it's more of a title than a name. What do you think, which other name ought I give this orchid bee crayon?"

"Raul Esparza." Sunny does not know who that is but it sounds like a good name for Susan's crayon toy.

Oh, right. Magnus makes meaningful eye contact with Sunny. When she told him about Susan's offer to have her paint one of the walls in Lancelot's room, Magnus suggested to Sunny that she could be a superspy artist and do a lot of investigative journalism about what it's even like in there.
