"Okay, just another minute," Magnus says.

It's a hot day out, so holding Galahad's hand is a sweaty affair... and Magnus's current use of his alf seidr isn't making matters any more comfortable. The grass is tickling at Magnus's back -- his shirt has ridden up while he lies, spread-eagle, in the middle of the lawn. Galahad is always so smart about his clothes, Magnus bets he's not getting the grass itches at all.

But he can put all that aside. Grass tickles are good tickles, and the heat of the sun is -- to Magnus -- always more refreshing than it is annoying. There's a trickle of sweat at the side of his neck, but even though it's hot out it's not really a temperature extreme, so as usual he feels regular about it.

All his attention is on the plants around them. Feverfew and milkweed, black-eyed susan and queen anne's lace, aster and boneset and flowering spurge and yarrow and tickseed and teasel and wild thyme and forget-me-nots and poppies and and and -- well. He's not sure what else is in the mix. He's been trying to get better at plant identification with Claudius's guidance, but the package he found earlier that morning only said FIELD SEEDS. He's doing his best! Right now, his 'best' is less focused on identification and more focused on growing them to flower, high enough that some of them are providing shade to both him and Galahad, in a very neat outline of the grass they've politely crushed between the two of them.

Eventually, he's done all he can without overtaxing the plants. "There," he tells Galahad. "Summer snow angels, check."

And yet the smile vibe is right there. Magnus pokes his cheek. "You sound so smug," he says, delighted.

"I am smug."

"Good," emphatically. "I'm happy for you."

[onthewillowsthere]

"I'm happy for you too," he says, because he is. The new language of sex has brought with it new kinds of intimacy, new ways to see one another, new joy. It's something he would want everyone, but especially Magnus, who loves Alex so all-encompassingly, to have the chance to learn.

"Is mouth stuff still the best? In your opinion?"

"Yes. I believe so."

Magnus very visibly makes a mental note about this. "Good to know," he says.

"But you should experiment. It's scientific."

[summerdude]

They've been experimenting, if by 'experimenting' we here mean 'Alex will sometimes change genitals.' It's not something Magnus really expected, during his months of strenuous research -- he mostly pictured one thing in particular over and over again, and it's definitely still on the table, but it's not the only thing on the table, and the possibilities are overwhelming. "You love science," he says, sounding mildly overwhelmed at the onslaught of mental images now rolling through his thoughts.

"Yes. It can make things less overwhelming."

"Even sex science?"

[onthewillowsthere]

Galahad nods.

[summerdude]

"There's a way to make it less overwhelming?" Not that Magnus is interested, necessarily, but he is curious.

"Thinking about it. Nothing makes doing it less overwhelming."

Magnus rolls back onto his back. "Gods," he says, emphatically, and then twists his head to look at Galahad. "What kind of, um, sex science experiments have you done?"

There is the faintest, most miniscule lift of his brows as he considers whether Magnus actually wants to know this. Then, ever truthful, he says, "Whether there are external factors that can magnify the intensity of orgasm, such as the time of day, the influence of an altered state, or garments worn. The differences in digital and oral stimulation. A comparison of lubricants. My tolerance for pain. We also have a list of positions to try."

Magnus twists his head to stare at Galahad. "Does time of day matter????"

"No," simply.

"So what does?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"Clothing and wine both have an influence."

[summerdude]

This makes perfect sense. Clothes get in the way of, um, activities, and doesn't wine give people, like, whisky dick or whatever? "Yeah, I can see that."

Hmmmmmmmmmm, Magnus.

"I am keeping ratings and scales."

Magnus perks up. He loves Galahad's ratings. "Oh yeah?"

"For different acts."
