"Okay, just another minute," Magnus says.

It's a hot day out, so holding Galahad's hand is a sweaty affair... and Magnus's current use of his alf seidr isn't making matters any more comfortable. The grass is tickling at Magnus's back -- his shirt has ridden up while he lies, spread-eagle, in the middle of the lawn. Galahad is always so smart about his clothes, Magnus bets he's not getting the grass itches at all.

But he can put all that aside. Grass tickles are good tickles, and the heat of the sun is -- to Magnus -- always more refreshing than it is annoying. There's a trickle of sweat at the side of his neck, but even though it's hot out it's not really a temperature extreme, so as usual he feels regular about it.

All his attention is on the plants around them. Feverfew and milkweed, black-eyed susan and queen anne's lace, aster and boneset and flowering spurge and yarrow and tickseed and teasel and wild thyme and forget-me-nots and poppies and and and -- well. He's not sure what else is in the mix. He's been trying to get better at plant identification with Claudius's guidance, but the package he found earlier that morning only said FIELD SEEDS. He's doing his best! Right now, his 'best' is less focused on identification and more focused on growing them to flower, high enough that some of them are providing shade to both him and Galahad, in a very neat outline of the grass they've politely crushed between the two of them.

Eventually, he's done all he can without overtaxing the plants. "There," he tells Galahad. "Summer snow angels, check."

"So what does?"

"Clothing and wine both have an influence."

[summerdude]

This makes perfect sense. Clothes get in the way of, um, activities, and doesn't wine give people, like, whisky dick or whatever? "Yeah, I can see that."

Hmmmmmmmmmm, Magnus.

"I am keeping ratings and scales."

Magnus perks up. He loves Galahad's ratings. "Oh yeah?"

"For different acts."

[summerdude]

"Can I hear an example?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"When I showed Claudius my tattoo we had sex. He penetrated me from behind so he could admire it," Galahad says, as clinically as he can, although his cheeks and throat are already flushing. "I have scaled the intensity, the pleasure, and my desire to perform the act again."

Magnus's mouth drops. He'd kind of thought that Galahad was saving that for his wedding night. "And????"

"All tens," he admits, his flush spreading. He's certain this is not a scientifically rigorous assessment, but just thinking about that night muddles his ability to be objective.

"Wow," Magnus breathes. That's it; he's definitely going to be picturing Alex penetrating him from behind for, like, hours. Even though Magnus isn't tattooed. But his thumb usually finds Alex's tattoo -- the Urnes snake on the back of her neck -- when they're, like, making out or whatever because he likes to touch it, and Alex likes that he like it, so... maybe he should reconsider? Much to think about.

Anyway. Good thing they're not sailing an actual real stormy sea or anything!

"Good to know," he says, only sounding mildly strangled about it.

"Yes," softly. "Wow." Just speaking of it brings the memory to the forefront of his mind -- Claudius' hands at his waist, the ache and pleasure of being filled, the kisses Claudius placed along his spine like a row of buttons.

"Oh, so it's good-good." Just what Magnus's increasingly elaborate imagination is suggesting! "...Does it hurt?"

"No. He prepared me with his hand first. It was uncomfortable in the beginning, but not painful. I think it was because I had not done it before."

Magnus is, at this point, very visibly taking mental notes. He nods.

[onthewillowsthere]

"And lubricant," Galahad says gravely. "That's important."

[summerdude]

"Yeah, the books all mention lubricant," Magnus nods.

[onthewillowsthere]

"Claudius makes his own. But I think the house will give you some."

[summerdude]

"Dude," says Magnus, rolling over so he can bury his hot face against Galahad's arm. "I have so much lube in my cooler."

Galahad flushes sympathetically. "You're prepared."

[summerdude]

"For, like, any eventuality."

[onthewillowsthere]

"Good."

[summerdude]

"Alex can--" Magnus starts, because it's the kind of thing he wants to share with his best friend... and then he clamps his mouth shut, because this is very very specifically Alex's business and no one else's. "Um. Yeah."

"Is it good?" Galahad asks, with a little smile. He knows how Magnus is about Alex's business, but they don't have to discuss specifics.
