It's Dark now, and Magnus has been preparing. He doesn't want Sunny to get bored or to feel the pervasive lack of the month, and so he's been squirreling away the necessary items for fun. It's not a surprise activity — Sunny has been on board since the very beginning, helping pick out exactly what they need to make it truly exceptional — but it does have a very intensive prep.

Finally, about a week into the month, they reach a point of cabin fever where the time seems right. It's not so intense that they're truly cranky, but they're definitely both in need of some diversion. Apu's cold is waning, and Far's isn't very advanced, and so Sunny allows that she can take a break from playing nurse (a word which here means verrrry carefully but verrrry insistently bringing them both cup after cup of water) to play Halloween instead.

And so, equipped with a closet full of costumes and an enormous basket, they start their rotation of Every Single Door In The Mansion (And All Other Non-Mansion Buildings Where People Live). Magnus knocks loudly, Sunny at his side, poised to say the magic words.

Halloween! In... May. When tagging in, please just get your character to the point of opening the door: we're going to describe Magnunny's costumes in our first tags!

"I know of Halloween." Trick-or-treating is awfully American, but Susan is familiar with the concept. "And... what precisely is this outfit you've got on?"

"I a artist, and Magnu is a art."

"Living art is a time-honored tradition," Magnus explains, only a little antagonistically.

In front of Sunny, Susan is a vision of polite self-restraint. She says, "What a clever costume! It suits you."

"I making a picture on Magnu!"

"I'm a work of art."

"So I see," says Susan, amused despite herself. "Let me guess. You shall be wanting apples and nuts, yes?"

"...Huh?"

Magnus tilts his head. "Is that some kind of British Halloween tradition?"

"Yes, naturally. Is that - not your tradition? I'm certain I could scrounge something up."

"You don't gotta give us more grocies!" Sunny is giving out the tricks and the treats, not Susan!

"I mean, I won't say no to an apple," Magnus says. "But nah. We're doing upside down Halloween. We're bringing the treats. And the tricks."

"That's very thoughtful," says Susan, trying very hard to reconcile this with her experiences with Magnus to date. It doesn't square.

"Which one you want?"

"Which do you think I ought to select?"

"Whichever you want."

Otherwise Sunny would have said 'Trick!' or 'Treat!' instead of saying 'Trick or treat!'

"Trick," Magnus suggests.

"Then I suppose I shall have trick," says Susan gamely, even though Magnus's suggestion does make her think she ought to go with the opposite.

"Okay!" Sunny turns and starts digging in the basket for a moment, then says, "Oh hi Susan it so nice to meet you," as she turns around and extends her hand for a handshake.

'Her hand' is a phrase which here means, 'a tiny plastic fake hand that she has stuck onto the end of her pointy finger, because Susan won't expect her to have an extra so so tiny hand like this, so it's a funny trick'.

"My word!" says Susan, pressing her left hand to her mouth even as she reaches to shake Sunny's 'hand' with her right. "Sunny, I do believe your hand has shrunk considerably in the past few minutes."

"It's the latest event," Magnus drawls. "Lots of random body parts are changing sizes."

"Oh no! What I gonna do? Can't even hold nothing!"

"I suppose you've got no choice but to find only the tiniest of objects to hold."

"Like the world's smallest--" Magnus starts, and diverts from concluding with violin as soon as he remembers Sunny isn't really a fan. "--Quigley."

She gasps. "A third Quigley! But little!" She wants one now. It could be First Quigley and Second Quigley's baby.
