Trick Or Treat... But DON'T Smell Sunny's Feet!!!! [open]

It's Dark now, and Magnus has been preparing. He doesn't want Sunny to get bored or to feel the pervasive lack of the month, and so he's been squirreling away the necessary items for fun. It's not a surprise activity — Sunny has been on board since the very beginning, helping pick out exactly what they need to make it truly exceptional — but it does have a very intensive prep.

Finally, about a week into the month, they reach a point of cabin fever where the time seems right. It's not so intense that they're truly cranky, but they're definitely both in need of some diversion. Apu's cold is waning, and Far's isn't very advanced, and so Sunny allows that she can take a break from playing nurse (a word which here means verrrry carefully but verrrry insistently bringing them both cup after cup of water) to play Halloween instead.

And so, equipped with a closet full of costumes and an enormous basket, they start their rotation of Every Single Door In The Mansion (And All Other Non-Mansion Buildings Where People Live). Magnus knocks loudly, Sunny at his side, poised to say the magic words.

Halloween! In... May. When tagging in, please just get your character to the point of opening the door: we're going to describe Magnunny's costumes in our first tags!

Tress is looking over some of her supply lists as the knock lands on her door. "Just a moment!" She heads over and opens it.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny announces when Tress opens the door. Hanging from straps on her shoulders are two large felt chocolate chip cookies, sandwich-board-style. Beside her stands a large, foam milk carton with Magnu's head, arms, and legs sticking out.

"Happy Darkoween!" Magnus echoes, waving at Tress with one sticky-outy arm.

Not many people knock on Constance's door, so she is startled out of her reverie, fountain pen poised over a page of her journal. After a beat, she sets the pen down and crosses to the door and opens it, steps silent.

"What have we here?"

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny announces for Constance as well. She and Magnu are wearing nearly identical costumes - red onesies with white circles on their tummies, and blue hair spray coloring their hair. Inside the white circle on Sunny's outfit are the words THING 1 and in Magnu's, of course, THING 2.

"You know what they say," Magnus says, giving an awkward little wave. "It's Halloween somewhere. And that somewhere is here."

It's presumably rather hard to knock on Temeraire's door, but the sentiment surely remains the same, and soon enough there is an inquisitive snout peering out his doorway. "Hallo?"

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny yells to Temeraire as he peers out at them. Sunny is wearing her cookie costume from before, only now it is turned inside out so that instead of looking like a giant chocolate chip cookie, it looks like a giant tan hardtack (the best food). This, of course, matches perfectly with Magnu, who is dressed as a boat.

"Ahoy there, Temeraire," Magnus chimes in, waving. "Happy Darkoween!"

What.

Murderbot puts down the book it's been flipping through and gets to its feet. Juvenile humans. Honestly.

"What," it says as it opens the door.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny announces to Win, wearing her Godzillo outfit and standing next to Magnu, who is dressed as a building. Later she is definitely going to play Attack and knock over MagnuBuilding and tackle him, but right now she has a very important job to do, which is delivering Win its present.

When he heard the knock on the door, Aleksander had been working up the nerve to trim his beard. With the advent of Dark, the mirror had gone back to showing him a face with painful jagged-looking scars and he was heartily tired of it. Unfortunately for him, there was plenty more season left.

Glad of an excuse to put off looking in the mirror, he went to open the door. He'd been forced to don one of the maroon-colored suits in the closet after the last of his stash of clean clothes gave out and his eyes were so sensitive he'd taken to wearing sunglasses but he was prepared, he thought, for whoever was visiting.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny yells, then gasps when she actually looks at Pusha. "You dressed up like a crayon Pusha!" She clearly approves!

Although knowing Dark was coming and what it entails is a definite advantage over the previous year, Asmodean still doesn't particularly like it, so as a combination of distraction and channeling his unease into something reasonably productive, he's working on composing a piece of music about the season. He's hit a rather tricky point of chord progression and is in the middle of running a hand through his hair yet again, setting it more than a bit askew when the knock comes. He looks up curiously and tries to pat it down as best he can, although it is significantly... floofier than normal when the door opens.

He sees the two of them standing at his door and his head cocks owlishly, all of it together giving almost the impression of a very curious fledgling. "Yes?"

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny, wearing almost the same ruffly outfit Asmodean has on except toddler-sized-eggplant-sized-toddler-size, yells up at him. Part of her hair has been colored blue with spray-in hair color, and she is holding a cool little harp toy she found the other day. Magnu has on an outfit made out of very fluffy white fake fur and a pair of little tiny dog ears on a headband.

It is, indeed, Dark -- and Apollo is in the throes of a sinus infection. But it's not terribly often he gets a knock at his door when he's not expecting it, and so he heads over. He peers out from his blanket cocoon at the two new arrivals, blinking confusedly. "Hi...?"

"TRICK OR TREAT," Sunny announces in a low voice. The reason she is using a low voice is because she is wearing a Tall Grown Up Person costume! She is riding on Magnu's shoulders, and they have put a trench coat on around themselves to disguise that fact. Additionally, Sunny has on a pair of those glasses with the fake nose and mustache attached.

Galahad opens the door to his and Claudius' rooms, wrapped in one of Claudius' dressing gowns but otherwise looking much as he always does. The cold and dark (and Dark) have been a struggle, but he has a husband to look after, and that's made everything easier.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny announces from, yet again, on top of Magnu's shoulders. This time the trench coat they are wearing is a giraffe print, and as an additional bonus, Sunny's hair is up in pigtails that stick straight up. The tips have been sprayed a darker shade of brown.

Crowley's been having a real rough time of it this Dark. It turns out, there's no coffee to be found anywhere. He's found: a spiralizer, a box of agar-agar packets, a small cake that looks like a coffee cup, and a coffee cup of foam that smells like coffee but tastes like liver pate. Not a single drop of coffee. You'd think that a demon wouldn't be affected by such a mortal thing as caffeine withdrawal -- but he's not just any demon, he's a severely under-caffeinated and cranky one.

He opens the door, hair in slight disarray. "What?"

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny says, grinning up at Crowley from inside her Bentley costume. 'Bentley costume' is a phrase which here means 'a cardboard box that has been made to resemble the Bentley, held up by two straps she is wearing over her shoulders'. Magnu is in a similar outfit, except that his is a Tricycle costume instead of a Bentley costume.

Lancelot has found, this year, that the primary reasons he dislikes Dark are that Susan is clearly at her least happy or comfortable, and that the weather keeps him indoors far more than he would like. This afternoon, after warming up from his tasks that make going outside necessary, he is seated at Susan's desk, working on notes that he hopes Susan can help him shape into plans for a tourney suited to those here at the Mansion.

At the knock on the door (which does not sound like any of the knocks he might usually expect), he rises and opens it, his expression curious.

"TRICK OR TREAT!" Sunny shouts with a biiiiiig grin. She's wearing a hoodie and some jeans, and her hair is not up in the usual ponytail, but instead down and brushed to look kind of shaggy.

Whoever is knocking on the door to Susan's favorite room with all the rugs? She frowns, rising from where she's been sorting through birthday surprises on a particularly lush Persian carpet, and opens the door. "Yes?"

"Trick or treat!" Sunny says. Even if she has a business rivalry with Susan, that doesn't mean Susan can't have a Halloween. She did get all of those groceries for her daddies, even though they already had groceries like responsible adults, but it was probably meant as a nice gesture anyway. Right now Sunny has on a blue shirt with a very curly wig, and she has scribbled some very happy trees on Magnu's canvas costume, a phrase which here means, "all white outfit", a phrase which here means, "previously all white outfit, but now is a partially scribbled on outfit".
