Magnus wakes up, normal again except for how he's in an unfamiliar room. Not Galahad's old room, either. A nondescript one that, as far as he can tell, just has a bunch of clothes and stuff. Also he's wearing silky pajamas he'd never pick out automatically on his own?

It doesn't take long for him to feel like the walls are closing in on him. It's out of respect for Aornis that he stumbles out of her room through the door (barefoot and in the silky pajamas) and goes outside the normal way. Once outside, he flops into the snow, calling summer and feeling the way the snow steams against his skin as it melts.

He's not feeling totally regular again when he sits bolt upright, remembering that Drosera is probably in Galahad's old room with two people that aren't Magnus or Galahad. Existential crisis over, there's a child to retrieve! And hopefully, he'll run into Galahad in the halls.

"For what?"

Magnus pauses. "That's a really good question," he says, and shrugs. "My visions are just glimpses at stuff that's happening across the Nine Worlds, but sometimes they have useful information. If something specific is being communicated, then, like... I dunno. Maybe it's representative in a different way, that's all."

"When did you have a vision last?"

"Um." Magnus takes Galahad's wrist and squints at his watch. "Five? Minutes ago?" He nods. "Maybe six."

"What was it?"

[summerdude]

"It was in the Chase Space -- I think Alex was fighting with Samirah and Hearthstone. I couldn't see what Hearth was saying. His back was to me."

He nods. The way Magnus explained his visions, that means whatever happened in the Chase Space is really happening. "Are you worried?"

Magnus thinks about this, then shakes his head. "If it was something really bad, it would have involved a god," he says. "Or it would have been in Valhalla, or something. I think I just miss them and caught them at a bad time." He hopes.

A vision that has no meaning or call to action, one that's just a glimpse of what the people Magnus loves elsewhere, sounds worse than what Galahad experiences. If he could sometimes see Percival, but never speak to him or know he's well or whether he's troubled -- Galahad would rather the metaphors and portents of his own visions. He pulls Magnus into a hug, wet boxers and all.

Magnus hugs him back, tightly -- Galahad must really need it, since Magnus's vision was just par for the course. "You okay?" he asks, slumping into Galahad's hold. "You're okay."

"I'm okay," softly.

[summerdude]

"Even with your vision?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"Yes." He pets Magnus' hair. "Are you?

[summerdude]

"Oh, yeah, yeah," Magnus says. He doesn't pull out of the hug -- Galahad gives such good ones. "I'm myself again, I didn't lose my toe forever, I'm hanging out with my best friend and our mythological beast of a daughter, and I got to see Alex for a few seconds. I'm golden."
