I Deliberately Misinterpret The Nature Of An Agreement

Galahad probably didn't expect Magnus to come pounding on his door in the middle of the day when they agreed Magnus would try sleeping on his own, especially since Magnus decided pretty quickly that he wanted to sleep outside again (but on purpose because he prefers it, not because it feels like the only option that doesn't end with the walls closing in on him). But here Magnus is, anyway, in the middle of the day, knocking loud enough that he has to force himself to take a step back so he doesn't break the door down.

"Dude, it's me, I need you," he calls, just so Galahad knows for sure it's him, or whatever. "You're in there, right? Galahad?"

Okay. Magnus really has to read the Bible or something, because he's not following. "Can you explain that to me?"

"It's about the end of the world."

[summerdude]

Magnus stills. "Which one?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"Mine. But it's meant to be all worlds, because that's what the author believed. It's a vision from God."

[summerdude]

"Why does every religion predict the end," Magnus asks no one in particular. "Can't they just let a good-enough thing be?" But he's cuddling closer to Galahad. Ragnarok is supposed to end every single world, too.

"I would wake up and remember it. Dreams aren't like that. That's why Claudius thought someone sent it to me."

Magnus often wakes up and remembers his dreams, but that's mostly because he tries to pass out to have specific kinds of dreams. Which -- now that Alex is here, maybe he can cut it out on some of the overextending himself? "Someone sent it to you?"

He nods. "He thought it was Luo Binghe, but I talked to Lan Wangji. I didn't think so. I think Shen Yuan would mind if he did."

"Yeah," Magnus agrees. "I think he would." He's quiet for a moment, and then decides to just ask. "Why didn't you tell me?"

"I didn't know it was important." He means that: he only told Claudius because Claudius asked him outright.

"I think everything about you is important."

[onthewillowsthere]

Galahad turns and hugs him, hard, burying his face in Magnus' shoulder.

[summerdude]

Magnus squeezes him as tight as he dares, moving a hand to Galahad's back so he can stroke it up and down his spine.

[onthewillowsthere]

"I love you," he whispers against Magnus' shirt, tucking himself in a little closer, savoring the pressure and the firmness of Magnus' hand on his back.

"I love you too," he says, emphatically. He abandons what he'd planned on saying -- you should tell me these sorts of things, I want to know about them -- because it feels kind of silly to bring up right now.

[onthewillowsthere]

"I'm sorry I didn't tell you," softly.

[summerdude]

Magnus takes a deep breath. "I just want you to feel like you can," he decides.

[onthewillowsthere]

"I do." He looks up, surprised. "I can tell you anything."

[summerdude]

Something -- an anxiety Magnus didn't know he even had -- relaxes, and he lets his breath out in one big rush. "Good."

[onthewillowsthere]

"It's okay. We're okay."

[summerdude]

"We're okay," Magnus echoes. "We're -- dude. Idea."

[onthewillowsthere]

"What?"

[summerdude]

"You know graphic novels?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"No," a little amused, because he's pretty sure Magnus knows he wouldn't know.

[summerdude]

"The books I'm always reading," Magnus clarifies. "With all the pictures."
