"And then we realized Frigg was knitting with clouds. Actual factual clouds," Magnus says, passing another box that, as it turns out, holds nothing useful down to Galahad. He climbs up another rung on the little stepladder and starts in on the next shelf. "How many boxes of Legos do we have so far?" He knows it's certainly not enough for a bachelorette party yet, but surely there's something they can go on. He'd kind of tonight that this far after Dark, there would be... more? "Do you think we should find another room to look in? Maybe the game room isn't the best choice."

He squeezes back. "Thank you. For this quest. And for organizing my party."

"Dude, of course," Magnus says. "Anything, anytime. You know that."

"I know." It's just important to say it. He touches the spire of a Lego castle with a graveyard and a brook outside it.

"Do you recognize it?"

[onthewillowsthere]

Galahad shakes his head, frowning.

[summerdude]

"Me neither." Magnus turns in a circle, taking in the enormity of this space. There's a Statue of Liberty, and there's also a Ratatosk, and there's an enormous house that, upon closer inspection, has a maze of hallways and stairs that go nowhere but which still looks super different from the Mansion. "This place is huge."

"I don't think it fits." He glances around. There are Legos as far as the eye can see, tables and tables of them, intermittently broken up by the giant columns that support the space.

"In the Mansion? No. I don't think any of these places do."

Magnus has a point -- the chasm with the Thing in it certainly didn't. Galahad nods.

"Do you think they were always here?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"I don't know. Maybe they were waiting for us to come look to decide."

[summerdude]

"Wild," Magnus says, thoughtfully, poking the edge of a display that looks like the mushroom cavern they found earlier.

Galahad inspects a Café Musain, then straightens. "Let's mark this door."

"Yes," Magnus agrees, immediately. He doesn't move to go to the door, though, just hunts around until he finds the section he was hoping would be there -- an area with hundreds of different kinds of Lego sets in unopened boxes lined up next to build mats. FJERDAN ICE COURT, reads the first one. He makes his way down part of the line: FOURTREES (STARCLAN EXPANSION SET). CATERPILLAR'S MUSHROOM (WITH HOOKAH). CASTLE OF THE QUEEN OF CAKES. HIMEJI CASTLE. CASTLE DREARBURH. CASTLE WHITESPIRE. THE GLOBE (EARTH). THE GLOBE (LONDON). THE NEW SMOKE. DEATH STAR. GREEN GABLES. GREAT PYRAMID OF GIZA. And on and on and on.

Galahad follows, and then breaks off on his own to look at more of the boxes. There are sets made to look like all kinds of different plants -- grouped together, mainly: SUCCULENTS. SUNFLOWERS. AUTUMN BOUQUET. CARNIVOROUS PLANTS (he takes that one) MUSHROOMS. UNDERSEA GARDEN.

"We'll keep most of these here for your bachelorette, obviously," Magnus says, and grins. "Hey, I guess we finally found enough boxes."

A flash of a smile. "Two quests at once."

[summerdude]

"And they say you shouldn't multitask," Magnus jokes.

"We're different."

[summerdude]

"Hey, maybe this means we're getting closer to your scabbard."

[onthewillowsthere]

"Are you ready to keep looking?"

[summerdude]

"Yeah! Let's do it." Magnus takes a final look around, smiling. "You pick the next door."

With the Carnivorous Plants box tucked under his arm, Galahad goes back to the door of the Lego world and lets them back out into the hall. There are plenty more doors, but one of them is solidly made, braced with iron, like a door from his world. The handle is an iron ring, wrought to look like a snake coiled around a single stem of lily.

He puts out his hand and takes the ring, and pulls. The door creaks open.

Inside there is a single stone pedestal, and on it a long, slim, sword-shaped object covered with a sheet of gauzy with cloth. Galahad lifts the cloth to reveal a leather scabbard with a reinforced bronze mouth, affixed to a sword-belt. The belt is slender, almost daintily made from white hide; the buckle is silver. It looks almost like a girdle, the kind a maiden might give for a favor.

"Dude," Magnus breathes, crowding into the room. "This all looks very portentous, don't you think?" He leans in to inspect it, careful not to touch it. "Does it fit?"

Carefully he takes the scabbard off the pedestal and unfastens the belt. When he buckles it around his waist, it's a perfect fit.
