Look, It's Been A Really Weird Week [closed post]

Magnus's day is already pretty thrown off, between surprise Hanguang-jun morning hangs (definitely positive) and coming clean to Alex about training with Lancelot (mostly positive), which led directly to Alex coming along to afternoon training (weird, but ultimately extremely good), so that he can... vet Lancelot??? Have a fun little spar with Magnus???? Tease them both mercilessly??? Anyway, it's fun! It feels kind of like the best part of old times, except Magnus is actually kind of good now that he's had formal training, and even though he knows Alex, like, super well, Alex is always a wildcard with fighting, and it's nice to have things shaken up in training now that Magnus is also getting used to how Lancelot fights.

All this to say that he somehow hasn't seen Galahad yet, even though usually by now he's spent several hours with Galahad. So after dinner, he heads back up to the Mansion with the dual purposes of finding (1) Galahad and (2) art supplies for his next time-sensitive project.

Magnus grins at Galahad, shakily. "That's, like, your raisin of art^*, huh."


*Raison d'être. TFW you vaguely remember something you've only seen written down.

"Yes," he says solemnly. He's never heard the phrase raisin of art before, but he gets the idea, and he assumes it's some of Magnus' future slang. "It can be yours too."

"I do love trying things with you," says Magnus, thoughtfully, and then realizes what he's just implied and wrinkles his nose. "Um, like. You know what I mean."

"I know what you mean. I do too. I think we are... braver together."

[summerdude]

"Yeah," Magnus agrees. This grin is steadier than his last, and he shifts so that he can lean his head on Galahad's shoulder for a moment. "I gotta get more excited about learning I don't like something I just tried if I'm gonna make it my raisin." This is about 80% sincere, 20% the fondest tease in the world.

Galahad leans back. "We should try some things now."

"Like what?" Magnus gets the feeling Galahad doesn't just mean going back for more popsicles. "And I do think we should revise the snogging scale. Like, um, dry humping and mouth stuff shouldn't both be nines."

"Dry humping?" Galahad asks, allowing himself to be distracted.

"When you, um," Magnus says, turning bright red as he pulls back enough that he can make a very demonstrative sort of body movement against the air. "But there's, like. Clothes on."

"Which one should be higher?" he asks, having turned rather pink.

[summerdude]

"I think touching without clothes should be higher than touching with clothes," says Magnus, perhaps a little too loudly.

It feels very important that he seize this opportunity to tease Magnus, since they don't come up much, so Galahad takes a moment to center himself and then asks, with great sincerity, "Why? Explain the difference."

Predictably, Magnus turns even brighter red. "Um. No clothes is sexier. ...right?"

"Why?"

[summerdude]

"Um... genitals?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"The genitals are still there when people have clothes on."

[summerdude]

"The threat of genitals is there," Magnus says. "But the experience of genitals is different."

[onthewillowsthere]

"You are discounting how it feels to see someone who is dressed but-- aroused. That is an experience of genitals."

Magnus considers this, then makes a funny strangled little mmph sound and turns an even deeper shade of red than ever previously managed!

"See."

"So, um," says Magnus, voice a little strangled. "How would you rank things? If you were expanding below-waist activity."

[onthewillowsthere]

"I think there should be a scale for kisses and one for other parts of sex. The scale isn't right for what it's measuring. Susan and I have spoken a lot about tools for measurements."

[summerdude]

"Tools for measurement? Like... rulers and rating scales?" Both of which, come to think, are methods he should probably use to get Shen Yuan' ghost to tell him about his dick.

"Yes. The snogging scale is suitable for kinds of kisses, but not for sex."

"So what goes on the sex scale? Besides dry humping being the, like, top of it."
