I Turn, Um... Uh... Sixteen? For The Tenth? Time???? [open post]

It's Magnus's birthday and he is a man with a surplus of plans. And many, many plastic recorders.

He's still a little overstimulated from the birthday party Galahad got Claudius to throw for the two of them — he loves all his friends, but that was a lot of people in one space, most of whom were also feeling many, many things about their visitors — and so it's been a quiet few days. Sunny is still a little subdued, so they've been having muted hangouts in the mornings; Galahad, also overstimulated from their birthday party, has fortunately been on Magnus's wavelength about just sailing around aimlessly on the Big Banana with many snacks and very little conversation during their daily hangs for the past few days. He drags himself to sword practice with Lancelot once or twice, has his weekly dinner at Hanguang-jun's, spends a great solo afternoon cleaning out Little John's cave in case anyone else wants to use it at some point, and lets Alex tease him into wrestling and, um, other stuff after dinner basically every night.

But on this, the twenty-sixth anniversary of Magnus's actual birth, most of his energy has returned to him. He's made birthday dinner plans with just his immediate family (and also Alex and Hanguang-jun) at their house for the evening. He's had his liveliest morning of the week. And with his newly regained energy he's found critical supplies for his afternoon: a roll of duct tape, several trash bags, eight recorders, a handful of hollow pens, and a dream. He's sitting cross-legged in the middle of the Mansion's lawn, a look of grave concentration on his face, as he makes little holes in a bag, duct tapes two recorders and one pen here and there, and then seals it all up.

And then he takes a deep breath, fits his mouth to the hollow pen, and blows the bag up. When he places it under his arm and squeezes, he's gratified to find that his makeshift bagpipes work perfectly. And he still has supplies for a couple more!



I know everyone is still busy with visitor's day so feel free to take your time on this one... but I would love to ultimately have a ton of Chaos Thread Opportunities.

"Ah," says Magnus, in tones of great wisdom. "Do you know what a 'misnomer' is?" It seems like the kind of word Klaus would use.

[biteybaby]

"Uh huh! Uncle Monty teach me! Incredibly Deadly Viper is misnomer!"

[summerdude]

"That's right." Gods, Sunny really is the smartest kid in the entire world. "A town crier is also a misnomer. They yell the news out in public spaces."

[biteybaby]

"I wanna practice! What news should yell first?"

[summerdude]

"Maybe news about our concert later?"

[biteybaby]

“Okay!” Sunny hops up and stands in what she assumes is a good stance for yelling the news, and yells, “HEY EVERYONE MAGNU AND SUNNY GONNA CONCERT LATER WITH TRASHBAG! FOR BIRTHDAY!”

She then sits back down and looks at Magnu. “Was that good?”

Magnus's ears are ringing. "Very loud and clear," he tells her approvingly, shaking his head to try and clear it.

"Don't think anyone else heard though."

[summerdude]

"Yeah, there's not a lot of people around, huh? I bet SecUnit heard. I mean, Win. Win hears most things."

[biteybaby]

"Win probaly knows even more secrets than me!" It has all of those little cameras that fly all around. Sunny wishes she had little cameras that fly all around. Or a camera in general.

[summerdude]

"Do you think Win knows more secrets than Claudi?"

[biteybaby]

"Maybe! Me, Win, and Claudi should make secrets club! Get together and tell secrets!"

[summerdude]

Magnus can't quite imagine how this would turn out, but he would definitely love to be a fly on the wall. "What kind of secrets do you think you'd tell?"

[biteybaby]

"Secrets," she says, as if this is an answer.

[summerdude]

"Okay, okay, don't tell me."

[biteybaby]

"I dunno what secrets, haven't had club yet."

[summerdude]

Magnus kisses the top of her head again. "You don't have to tell me the secrets even when the club starts," he tells her, even though he's about 93% certain she's going to tell him the secrets when the club starts.

[biteybaby]

"I tell you them. I tell you everything already."

[summerdude]

"I know you do," Magnus tells her, fondly. "And I appreciate it. I know almost as much as Galahad now!"

[biteybaby]

"Maybe Galad come secrets club too."

[summerdude]

"Maybe! You could always invite him." Magnus is pretty sure Galahad likes learning his secrets from or for Claudius, though.

[biteybaby]

"Galad good explainer."

[summerdude]

"He's the best explainer," Magnus agrees, emphatically.

[biteybaby]

"I happy hims here."

[summerdude]

"Me too," Magnus says, still just as emphatically. "He's my best friend, you know. Like you and Crowley."
