"And then we realized Frigg was knitting with clouds. Actual factual clouds," Magnus says, passing another box that, as it turns out, holds nothing useful down to Galahad. He climbs up another rung on the little stepladder and starts in on the next shelf. "How many boxes of Legos do we have so far?" He knows it's certainly not enough for a bachelorette party yet, but surely there's something they can go on. He'd kind of tonight that this far after Dark, there would be... more? "Do you think we should find another room to look in? Maybe the game room isn't the best choice."

"Strange things happened when Percival and I were questing."

"Okay." Magnus turns to Galahad, eyes bright. "What's the weirdest? The unicorn doesn't count, the unicorn was super cool. I'm talking about balls-out weird."

"Once Percival and I were with Sir Bors, in the woods, and we saw a white deer being led by four lions. So we followed. We came to a hermitage, and all the animals went in to the chapel, where there was a holy man. He began singing mass. The animals were listening to it." He flutters his fingers against his thighs. "Then the deer turned into a man and sat upon the altar, and the lions changed also, into a man, and a lion, and an eagle and an ox."

"Wait." Magnus is, predictably, entranced. "Did the lion who turned into a lion turn into a different lion?"

"Yes. It was a maned lion, and it became a young she-lion."

[summerdude]

"You gotta tell Alex about that one," Magnus says, immediately. "You know, I never knew old-timey England was so weird. Halfborn never said."

[onthewillowsthere]

"It was weird," Galahad agrees. "It was a parable. The white deer was Christ and the lions were the apostles."

[summerdude]

"Remind me what an apostle is?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"A disciple of Christ. The four apostles are the Gospel authors. Mark, Matthew, Luke, and John."

[summerdude]

"Which one was the transgender lion, do you think?"

[onthewillowsthere]

"Mark is always the lion." Galahad considers. "The lion is also the symbol of Resurrection, because lions sleep with their eyes open. They are like Christ in his tomb."

"Lions and Jesus sleep with their eyes open??!"

[onthewillowsthere]

"That's what scholars say."

[summerdude]

"That's wild," Magnus says. He looks over at Galahad, and then slings his arm around Galahad's shoulders, tugging him in. "Dude, I'm so glad that you, like, get it."

[onthewillowsthere]

A little smile. "Get what?"

[summerdude]

"Walking around and stumbling across a whole, like, religious tableau. Though I guess a parable of the apostles is a little different from Thor in booty shorts."

Gravely, "Janet said booty shorts are for twinks."

[summerdude]

Magnus cackles, and then makes a face. "Thor's definitely not a twink," he says. "I mean, I think Thor specifically shouldn't wear booty shorts, because yikes, but booty shorts can be for anybody." Dreamily, "Alex had a pair of sequined booty shorts in Valhalla."

"I want to wear them for Claudius," he admits, secure that Magnus is a safe person to say this to.

[summerdude]

"You should," Magnus says, immediately and encouragingly. "And if you want sequins on 'em you should talk to Alex. My only request is that you have a camera or me with you the first time cuz if Claudius totally bluescreens, I want to see his face."

"Can Alex makes sequins?" curiously, as he fingerspells b-l-u-e-s-c-r-e-n-e-?

e-e-n, Magnus corrects, and says, "Alex is a sequin genius. A bluescreen happens when a computer, like, stops functioning because something's happened."

"A computer is a machine?"

[summerdude]

"Yeah. It's how you access the internet, among other things." Galahad knows about the internet. "You can play stuff like Shen Yuan's video games on them, too."

"And if it stops working, that is a metaphor for arousal?"
