"And then we realized Frigg was knitting with clouds. Actual factual clouds," Magnus says, passing another box that, as it turns out, holds nothing useful down to Galahad. He climbs up another rung on the little stepladder and starts in on the next shelf. "How many boxes of Legos do we have so far?" He knows it's certainly not enough for a bachelorette party yet, but surely there's something they can go on. He'd kind of tonight that this far after Dark, there would be... more? "Do you think we should find another room to look in? Maybe the game room isn't the best choice."

"Lifting rocks. So I become stronger."

"Oh, weightlifting. Yeah, we can work on our gains together." Magnus might have magical dead-guy muscles but he's obviously going to do everything he possibly can with his best friend.

"And standing on one leg to improve my balance."

[summerdude]

"Balance, strength... coordination?"

[onthewillowsthere]

He nods.

"Hanguang-jun's been teaching me to meditate, too," Magnus says, and then gets distracted from the original question he was going to ask: "Hey, has he been, like, sad lately around you, too? Homesick?"

"I don't know. Has he been sad with you?"

[summerdude]

"I think so? He kept quoting all this sad poetry at me. And he actually talked about where he came from." Collectively, obviously, this is incontrovertible proof.

A minute frown. "When will the bamboo be ready?"

[summerdude]

"Whenever Claudius says it is, I guess."

[onthewillowsthere]

"Do you think there's something else we could do to help?"

[summerdude]

"Well, I asked him to go ahead and start teaching me meditation?" Magnus says. Oh, right, his original question! "What's that like for you? By the way."

"I stand in a field of wheat and gather it into bundles."

[summerdude]

"That's nice," Magnus says. "I was Yggdrasil. Also there were these wolves in french maid costumes cleaning out my brain."

Galahad tries to imagine what makes a dress particularly French, and settles on a chemise. "Why?"

"He said I should clear my mind! In Valhalla, wolves do a lot of the cleaning. And they're less scary if they're in, like, little dresses or whatever."

"Are wolves good at cleaning?"

[summerdude]

"They must be. It's usually pretty clean, between battles."

[onthewillowsthere]

"Is that why wolves were chosen?"

[summerdude]

"No, they're important in Norse mythology." Magnus wrinkles his nose. "Usually I'm really scared of them, but the ones in my mind were okay."

"Because of the clothes?"

[summerdude]

"Yep, pretty much."

[onthewillowsthere]

"I would like to meditate at the church with you," Galahad says, as they start down the stairs to the basement.

"Yeah totally, whenever you want."

[onthewillowsthere]

"Would you do it daily?" It feels like a great thing to ask, even though they're together almost every day, but he knows he would like to have Magnus there with him.
